A proud moment for John Deere Sub-Sahara Africa and their machinery transport partner Agritrans.Andre Swart CEO and owner of Agritans has demonstrated his commitment to John Deere by investing in three new Mercedes Benz trucks that are John Deere branded. Friday 1 June 2012 was a memorable day for John Deere when Andre and his team arrived at the Boksburg offices with his three new gleaming trucks to show the John Deere management and staff. Also present at the event were dignitaries from Mercedes Benz South Africa Truck division and Afrit Trailers who manufactured the trailers. Both companies are extremely proud to be associated with the John Deere brand.Andre took delivery of the third truck on 26 April at the Mercedes Benz manufacturing plant in the port city of East London. This was a first for Mercedes Benz by allowing a long standing customer such as Agritrans to take delivery of a vehicle at their plant, following the official delivery and formal function Andre, his wife Michele and youngest daughter Katrien promptly drove it home to his head office in the Free State province.The Mercedes Benz Actros 1860 LS/36 Blue Tec Euro 5 truck boasts a fully enclosed trailer in bold John Deere branding and will transport smaller John Deere equipment across the country to customers and dealers. The other two consist of a standard Actros towing a low bed trailer and a state of the art 8x8 recovery and delivery vehicle.
